Google has bundled a Flash plug-in with its Chrome browser, a move that makes its allegiances clear when it comes to the Flash vs. HTML5 battle. One component of that debate centers on the security obstacles posed by browser plug-ins, a problem Adobe says its working to address. As for Google, its decision to tie Flash to Chrome was met with both cheers and boos.
With Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) owning YouTube, the Internet's principal delivery system for Flash-based video, it was perhaps inevitable that the company would bundle the Flash plug-in with its Chrome browser. The announcement came recently from both Google and the team developing the open source Chromium component on which Chrome is based.
