Kate Arrington, Tim Bickel, Marylouise Burke and Tom Irwin will appear in A Parallelogram, a new play by Bruce Norris, at Steppenwolf Theatre Company's Chicago home July 1–Aug. 29.
Directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro (August: Osage County), the staging in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St., concludes the troupe's 2009-10 season. Opening night is July 11.Norris was represented Off-Broadway earlier this season with Clybourne Park.
Here's how Steppenwolf bills the play: "If you knew your fate — would you accept it? Or try to change it? Bee is a young woman who believes she has an uncanny ability to see the future, and maybe even alter it. From the award-winning team that brought you The Unmentionables and The Pain and the Itch comes this dark, funny world premiere about a woman bent on reinventing her own destiny — and possibly the world."
