An analyst said Facebook's efforts "stop short" of an online version of 911.
In the wake of growing concerns about safety for young users on social-networking sites, Facebook on Tuesday launched a new version of its safety center. The company said it was the first collaboration between the popular social-networking site and its global safety advisory board, which was formed in December.
The safety center offers content on a variety of safety topics, as well as interactive multimedia and a new interface design.
