The latest enterprise-class VelociRaptors come in 450GB and 600GB versions for servers and high-performance PCs. An analyst said storage devices are outstripping Moore's law. Western Digital is busting Moore's law with its latest hard drive. The VelociRaptor 450GB and 600GB -- the next generation of its 10,000 RPM SATA family of hard drives -- offer new storage possibilities for a range of platforms.
The only 10,000 RPM SATA drive on the market, VelociRaptor targets blade servers, high-performance PCs, Macs, professional workstations, and 1U and 2U rack servers. The new model offers twice the capacity and up to a 15 percent performance increase over the previous generation.
